If you’re like me, you can’t tell the difference between valuable items and useless junk in the antique stores. But that doesn’t stop me from browsing on the off chance I’ll find something I must have. If that’s the case for you too, then here’s another antique store for you – Junkyard Dog Antiques & Internet Sales.
It says “search for items in our EBay store” on their website, but I didn’t understand that meant there were tons of things you could only see online. I drove there thinking I’d wander up and down long aisles packed with potential treasure, maybe wander off to a promising looking nook, only to find a single room with two cramped aisles.

I expressed my disappointment. The clerk (probably thinking I had a bazillion followers and wanting to avoid a negative review), graciously gave me a peek at their upstairs warehouse area (not available to the public). If you’re in the market for furniture or artsy stuff, you’ll have to find it online or on their in-store IPad and ask about it.
That said, there are some fun things on display – clothing; jewelry; glassware; a table made from a ship’s hatch; porcelain figurines; and even a curio cabinet containing each of the U.S. Presidents sculpted out of pewter. I mean, really? Who thinks of this stuff?

The upstairs warehouse had the bigger pieces, but I don’t really understand how the process would work. Let’s say I find one of these items on the store’s IPad and decide I must have it (let’s take the huge armoire for example). How do I get to inspect it if I’m not allowed in the warehouse? Hmmm. This is a new location for the business, so perhaps they’re still working on the finer details.

They also buy antiques so use their internet contact form to get in touch about the treasures you want to sell.

And you know, speaking of selling, I could use some extra income. I think I’m old enough to qualify as an antique. Maybe I’ll see what they’ll offer for a vintage Vegas showgirl.
